Uncertain future for Real Madrid star despite breakout form

Gonzalop Garcia

Real Madrid attacker Gonzalo García’s place at the club beyond this summer remains unclear despite recent strong showings. This uncertainty persists even after his breakout performances over the past couple of weeks.

The 21-year-old forward stepped into a prominent role at the Club World Cup when Kylian Mbappé was unwell. García scored Real Madrid’s only goal against Al-Hilal.

He then provided an assist in the team’s 3-1 win over Pachuca. The youngster continued his form, finding the net once more against RB Salzburg on Friday.

However, according to Diario AS, García is not guaranteed a spot in Xabi Alonso’s squad for the 2025/26 campaign. While Alonso reportedly admires his talent, the high level of competition in the Spanish capital means his future remains ‘open’.

Several clubs across Spain are watching the situation closely and are interested in signing the starlet if he becomes available for transfer.
