Rodrygo could be one of the players leaving Real Madrid this summer. Despite his contract running until 2028, his recent situation at the club suggests a departure is more likely than staying.
Rodrygo had a very inconsistent season. A low point came during the Copa del Rey final, where he only played the first half before being left out later. This moment led to talk of him possibly leaving Real Madrid, but he chose to stay, hoping things would improve under new coach Xabi Alonso. However, his situation has not gotten better since the coaching change.
Clubs from the Premier League are reportedly watching Rodrygo closely. Manchester City have long held an interest in him, with Pep Guardiola being an admirer. Chelsea and Arsenal are now seen as the most actively interested parties, particularly Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal team.
Under Alonso, Rodrygo started the first FIFA Club World Cup match but was taken off at halftime. He has played very little in the three games since, appearing for just a few minutes against Salzburg and not even warming up against Pachuca or Juventus.
This lack of game time has put English clubs on high alert, with speculation suggesting Arsenal might even pay over €80 million for him.

Rodrygo has stated he wants to stay at Real Madrid. Real Madrid itself does not seem worried about the situation. The club is aware of the interest but confirms no official offers have arrived for the player yet.
