Real Madrid legend praises Kylian Mbappé’s ongoing brilliance

Real Madrid legend Sergio Ramos recently offered his strong opinion on the excellence of Kylian Mbappé. The veteran defender believes Mbappé’s performances should have already earned him significant individual recognition in world football.

Kylian Mbappé, the 26-year-old French international, joined Real Madrid following the expiration of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain. His highly anticipated first season in Spain’s capital proved productive, even after a somewhat difficult start in La Liga.

As the campaign progressed, the true capabilities of Mbappé became fully apparent. He impressively finished the season having scored 43 goals across all competitions. This remarkable goal tally led him to secure both the Pichichi award for top scorer in La Liga and the European Golden Boot.

Despite these significant personal achievements, Mbappé is not widely predicted to be a leading candidate for this year’s Ballon d’Or award. This expectation is largely due to the fact that Real Madrid reportedly did not win major titles during the period considered, according to the reasoning presented.

Speaking to the media this week, as cited by Marca, Sergio Ramos addressed the topic of Mbappé and the Ballon d’Or. Ramos stated his view was clear. He pointed out that while Mbappé won individual honours like the Pichichi and Golden Boot, the Ballon d’Or often considers team achievements.

Ramos firmly believes that based on his consistent high level of play, Kylian Mbappé should already possess four or five Ballon d’Or trophies by now.
