Insider reveals Real Madrid shockingly rejected prolific European attacker

Real Madrid recently decided against signing a highly-rated European forward. According to reliable insider Mario Cortegana from The Athletic, the player in question is Viktor Gyökeres. This decision comes despite the club searching for new attacking options.

Gyökeres had a standout season playing for Sporting CP in Portugal during the 2024/25 campaign. The Swedish frontman was incredibly productive, scoring an impressive 54 goals and providing 13 assists across 52 appearances in all competitions.

His exceptional performance drew attention from many top clubs across the continent, with Arsenal reportedly among those interested. However, Real Madrid’s board at the Santiago Bernabéu was not keen on bringing him in at this time, even after the 27-year-old was offered to them.
