Former Barcelona player João Cancelo has spoken highly of Real Madrid forward Vinícius Jr. following their recent meeting on the field.
The two stars faced each other in a recent Club World Cup clash held in Miami on Wednesday night. Real Madrid kicked off their tournament campaign against Saudi outfit Al-Hilal at the Hard Rock Stadium. The match concluded with the sides sharing the points in a 1-1 draw. Former Barcelona defender João Cancelo played at right-back and was tasked with marking Vinícius Jr. throughout the encounter.

The Real Madrid forward evidently left a strong impression on the Portuguese full-back. Speaking after the game, Cancelo was full of praise for Vinícius Jr.’s abilities. He explained that the Brazilian is “very hard to play against.” Cancelo further highlighted Vinícius Jr.’s speed and unpredictability, calling it “always a pleasure to play against the best players in the world.”
