Betis target Real Madrid’s 20yo defender also wanted by Como

Jacobo Ramon

Real Betis is reportedly considering a move for Real Madrid defender Jacobo Ramon this summer. The La Liga club aims to bolster their defense by adding a young, talented centre-back. This potential transfer is now a focus as the window progresses.

Mundo Deportivo reports that Betis needs to strengthen their defensive line. They are looking for a player to join Marc Bartra, Diego Llorente, and Natan. A youthful profile is a key requirement for their summer strategy.

Jacobo Ramon, just 20 years old, has appeared six times for Real Madrid’s first team this season. He participated in the FIFA Club World Cup, playing one match. Despite hopes for more time under Xabi Alonso, limited opportunities suggest a move away is probable this summer.

Real Betis faces competition for the defender. Cesc Fabregas’ club, Como, is also interested and has already held talks with Real Madrid. Como might propose a deal similar to the one for Nico Paz, allowing Madrid future options. Getafe has also shown interest in the Madrid-born player.

Remaining at Real Madrid means high competition for game time. Several senior defenders like Dean Huijsen, Raul Asencio, Eder Militao, Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba, and possibly Aurelien Tchouameni are ahead of him. Moving is a logical step for his development.

Negotiations are expected to intensify in the summer window. A transfer to Betis, Como, or Getafe could provide Ramon with much-needed consistent playing time.
