Real Betis is closely eyeing a potential return for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos. Sporting director Manu Fajardo recently commented on the ongoing discussions, acknowledging the complex nature of bringing the former player back to Seville. Ceballos himself has expressed a strong desire to rejoin his previous club, setting the stage for a tricky negotiation.
Speaking during Junior Firpo’s official presentation, Betis sporting director Manu Fajardo addressed the club’s interest in Dani Ceballos. He emphasized respect for players under contract with other teams.
Fajardo stated, “Ceballos currently belongs to Real Madrid, and we must be respectful.” He confirmed Betis monitors market situations, adding, “Our conscience is as clear as Dani Ceballos’.”

Betis is open to bringing back former players, but not at any cost. Fajardo clarified the club won’t make financially reckless moves for Ceballos. He noted Dani had a chance two years ago, but current talks involve three parties. Betis is unwilling to pay a “big transfer fee,” with their €5 million offer far from Real Madrid’s €15 million demand.
Ceballos has publicly declared his clear desire to return to Betis. Days before Fajardo’s comments, the midfielder stated, “Betis is my home and it always will be. I hope the door stays open forever.” He awaits further talks about his future. The ball is now with Real Madrid, as Betis holds firm on its financial boundaries.
