Arsenal transfer hopes hit major snag over Real Madrid star’s wage demands

Rodrygo

Rodrygo Goes is attracting significant attention across Europe. His future at the club remains uncertain, with several top teams showing interest. Arsenal, in particular, has consistently pursued the Brazilian for an extended period, eyeing him as a key addition to their squad. This situation could lead to a major summer transfer saga.

Should Rodrygo decide to leave Real Madrid, he would not lack options. Clubs like Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, and Bayern Munich have emerged as potential destinations. However, Arsenal’s interest stands out, as the Gunners have kept a close watch on the Brazilian star for a considerable time.

Recent reports by Spanish journalist Rodra indicate that talks between Rodrygo’s representatives and Arsenal have reached a standstill. This development occurred following the entry of other major European clubs into the transfer race. Despite Arsenal’s willingness to pay a high transfer fee, the player’s salary expectations are now proving to be a significant obstacle.

Arsenal has clearly stated their unwillingness to meet the high wage demands from Rodrygo’s agents. Meanwhile, Real Madrid is reportedly open to selling the winger if they receive the right offer, specifically a sum of €100 million. Rodrygo, aged 24, remains undecided about his next step and plans to discuss his position with Alonso after his vacation to gain clarity.

While the 24-year-old has been vital for Real Madrid over the years, his numbers last season were considered subpar. In 30 league appearances, he racked up just six goals and five assists. He also did not have much prominence in the recent FIFA Club World Cup, which has added to questions about his consistent role.
