Real Madrid legend most likely to join Turkish club

Real Madrid’s Club World Cup participation signals a final appearance for one long-serving player.

Despite veteran players often drawing interest from Saudi Arabia or the United States, Lucas Vázquez reportedly has an offer to remain in Europe. Turkish club Fenerbahçe, now managed by José Mourinho, has apparently inquired about the terms for signing the Spanish player. This information comes via Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.

As of now, no response has been given to Fenerbahçe’s inquiry. The prospect of playing under José Mourinho is seen as appealing, a chance that never materialized during Mourinho’s time at Real Madrid despite him knowing Vázquez from youth reports.

Competing in Europe is considered a strong draw, offering a way to maintain his current level compared to leagues like Saudi Arabia or the MLS, where no offers have been reported yet.

The move to Mourinho’s side in Istanbul appears to be the most favorable option for Lucas Vázquez as he leaves Real Madrid as a free agent. For now, the right-back is focused on giving his best for the team in his final matches in the ongoing Club World Cup.
